Helping Hand Fund Support

The Helping Hand Fund exists to ensure that people who urgently require DNA testing are not excluded simply because they cannot afford it. The fund provides tailored financial assistance, enabling tests to go ahead even in cases where personal resources are limited or entirely absent.

Our Promise: Affordable DNA Testing for Social Needs

EasyDNA is committed to social responsibility. As part of this pledge, we have introduced heavily discounted DNA tests that are reserved exclusively for cases we define as “social cases.” These apply when:

  • The applicant, or an organisation supporting them, requires testing but lacks the means to pay for it.
  • The outcome of the test can clearly and directly enhance the well-being of those involved.

If you think your circumstances meet these conditions, we encourage you to reach out to the Helping Hand Fund team for more details and advice.

Applying for Support: How It Works

The fund is designed to provide assistance to people in genuine financial difficulty who need DNA testing. Below is an outline of who can apply and how the process works.

Who Is Eligible?

Social organisations: Local councils, charities, immigration support services, and advisory bodies can either submit applications directly or recommend individuals.

Private applicants: Individuals are welcome to apply themselves, but it is essential to demonstrate why the test is needed and how it will make a positive difference. An endorsement from a professional organisation will substantially strengthen an application.

Applicants are usually people who are already receiving state support such as Income Support, Housing Benefit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Pension Credit, Universal Credit, or Employment Support Allowance.

How to Apply

Complete the application form truthfully, ensuring every section is filled in.

If a social organisation is referring you, they may complete the paperwork on your behalf.

Be prepared to provide additional documentation if we need to verify your circumstances.

What Happens Next

Each case is individually assessed based on the information supplied.

The availability of tests is limited, and we will decide the level of assistance to be granted.

Our decision is final.

Applicants will be updated through their supporting organisation, which will also be informed of the final outcome.

If accepted, the testing will proceed in accordance with our standard procedures.

Additional Notes

Organisations may apply for several tests, but the total number on offer is restricted.

We reserve the right to close or pause the scheme once the allocated tests have been distributed or if circumstances require it.

We strongly encourage anyone who believes they qualify to apply, especially if testing could significantly improve their circumstances.

Terms and Conditions for Social Organisations

By applying for and accepting testing at a discounted rate, organisations agree to:

  • Submit only cases that, in their professional judgement, qualify as genuine social cases.
  • Provide a completed application form for each individual case, either filled in by the applicant or on their behalf.
  • Include a signed and stamped letter of support from a social worker, case worker, or legal representative.
  • Follow our normal testing conditions, covering aspects such as consent, liability, and outcome handling.
  • Supply additional details about the applicant if requested.
  • Respect any agreed payment terms that may apply.
  • Notify us promptly of any changes in the applicant’s circumstances.
  • If satisfied with the service, provide a statement or testimonial that may be used in our promotional material.
  • Share information about the Helping Hand Fund with their clients and networks via word of mouth, notice boards, newsletters, or websites where suitable.
